Israeli chef Yaniv Cohen grew up in Israel in a Sephardic Jewish family. His passion for Israeli flavors and spices propelled a relocation from Israel to Miami to open a kosher restaurant, JAFFA. Chef Cohen has been featured on hit Netflix show Best Leftovers Ever and has authored a cookbook, My Spiced Kitchen. Chef will be speaking and offering samples the afternoon of at our Yom Ha'atzmaut commemoration.
May 16: Chef Yaniv Cohen will prepare and serve an exclusive menu for the Tidewater Jewish community. The dinner will include an Israeli wine bar and an opportunity to meet Chef Cohen. Learn more and save your seat!
The Hall of Remembrance will feature the names of over 1700 Israelis who have lost their lives on or since October 7 at the hands of terrorists interspersed prints of art by various Israeli artists who have used their art as a way to take action, tell the stories of individuals, call for political action, and foster unity.
This breathtaking new exhibition brings to light the human stories of the remarkable people who have stood up to terrorism and showcases the unique spirit and resilience of the Israeli people. Created by one of Israel’s most noted artists and photojournalists, Humans of October 7th aims to combat misconceptions and antisemitic sentiment by showing the human side of the millions of lives in Israel affected by the attacks and ensuing conflict.
