ARTS + IDEAS is made up of inspirational events, presented by United Jewish Federation of Tidewater, the Simon Family JCC’s Lee and Bernard Jaffe Family Jewish Book Festival, Virginia Festival of Jewish Film presented by Alma and Howard Laderberg and Patricia & Avraham Ashkenazi, Israel Today, and Israel Fest.

Our Children & Family programs, events, and classes enrich the quality of family life. With a multitude of informative, fun, and educational opportunities, we have something for everyone!

For adults 55+, engage in a variety of social and educational programs, such as Fitness for Seniors, Book Club, and Mah Jongg.

Jewish Life and Learning programs promote Jewish learning, exploration, and innovation through classes, workshops, and lectures.

The public affairs arm of the Tidewater Jewish community, the Community Relations Council works to educate the community on public affairs issues and translates these issues into action with the greater community, public officials, faith and ethnic groups, and the media.

The Holocaust Commission fosters an understanding of the uniqueness and magnitude of the Holocaust while inspiring students, teachers, and community to champion human dignity in our constantly changing world.
